V Magazine very well fired the shot heard around the world last December with their size issue because it can still be heard in places such as Norway. Norwegian magazine D2 features a twelve-page cover story on Crystal Renn, Ford +, and a review of V Magazine’s size issue. Our Norwegian just isn’t what it used to be, but what we have deduced is that they wouldn’t have used photographer Daniel Jackson‘s* photograph of Crystal Renn for the cover and reprint much of the V Magazine story if it was unimportant. We already knew people were talking about plus models and now we know that some are even speaking in Norwegian about them.

Expect to hear much, much more in 2010 about Crystal Renn and Ford +.

Featured below are shots of the D2 story that includes Crystal Renn, Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, Michelle Olson, and Marquita Pring.

* An earlier version of this story incorrectly attributed the D2 cover photo to Jørn Tomter when in fact was shot by Daniel Jackson.

  1. Its about time full figured women get recognized for there beauty. I’m a slim woman but every shape and size is beautiful, I wouldn’t mind putting on a couple pounds myself.

  2. I really Like her but it would be even better if she is slims out not to the point of being size 0-2 but size 6-8 is nice…

  3. Why would you comment on a blog about women being comfortable with their bodies in the industry least known for that quality and suggest a model lose weight? Attitudes like this are and have been the problem all along.

  4. YEAH!!!! Niice to see “normal-sized” women in a modeling magazine!!! I too, am a slender woman, but I have always wished to be a little heavier so I could model and bring a new face to the modeling world.

  5. syssi, why do you think a woman should be a certain size to look good? I think the models shown here are amazingly beautiful; they look like real women, not stringy little sticks (I used to be a stringy little stick and it’s not that great, I like my curvy woman body a lot better and I like seeing other sexy curvy women, too!)

  6. I think it is fabulous to see a woman with curves and some pudge looking glamerous and sexy. I am a plus sized girl myself- It is hard to find clothing to fit my shape- adn it is a natural womanly shape- if clothes were made to fit, they would be flattering and show my curves instead of making me look like a blob, or “squeezed” into fahion. I am comfortable in my skin, work out, eat healthy, and still am a large gal- it is what it is, and to see mainstream mass media embrace us, instead of hiding us behind closed doors is a true blessing! We should be the norm, not the shunned abnormal.

  7. Eu gostei muito, pois a oportunidade de mostrar que há modelos gordas também e parar com essa obsessão pela magreza, e aceitar seu próprio corpo!
