Ford’s Alana Zimmer features in Dansk A/W 2010 #24 in an editorial photographed by Tom Allen and styled by Keegan Singh. The Dansk editor-in-chief Uffe Buchard‘s drive toward modesty takes a postindustrial grunge detour with this sun-drenched editorial titled “Postcards.” The full length garments of Ming Xi‘s Dansk story are replaced with close-fitting dresses by Hervé Léger, Versus, Azzedine Alaïa, a cropped skirt by Hakaan, and those triangular earrings by accessories newcomer Eddie Borgo that feature in every single shot. Alana’s wearing of blacked-out cat-eye shades, then, is perhaps the nod to modesty that brings the story into alignment with Buchard’s thesis about the virtue of subtraction. “Mountains of irrelevant newness,” as Buchard calls the agents of superfluity, be damned! Let’s now see what these postcards have to say. Alana, take it away… .
