Until the Ford Models Blog has a Tokyo bureau office, it will continue to make use of tFS, which is one of the interweb‘s greatest resources outside of that quirky DIY plumbing site started by Julian Assange. As the blog’s editor I hear about the bookings long before they’re in print, but exercise no small amount of discretion before posting stories on this page. Typically I wait for the actual issue to hit the newsstand, but for those truly spectacular stories, such as the June 2011 issue of Vogue Nippon featuring Crystal Renn photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg, I raid tFS for what has already been made public by its intrepid (OK, completely mad) contributors. Fresh on the heels of Crystal’s Vogue México cover, this Lori Goldstein-styled story titled “A Call for Camp” puts the Jimmy Choo S/S 11 campaign model through the maximalist paces from which she unsurprisingly emerges triumphant. With all the pleats, folds, details, patterns, textures, and colors, it would be easy to lose any model, but not Crystal. In fact, it is Crystal who unifies every single look and thus saves the story from resembling an exploded closet. There are more pages to this story than are currently in circulation on the interweb, but until the day they’re all released or we set up shop in Shubiya (whichever comes first), then please enjoy what is below posted.
