The collection yet again proved an homage to Dolce’s native Sicily with no gold or lace detail spared. Stefano Pilati is set to leave Yves Saint Laurent following the house’s Fall 2012 ready-to-wear show on Monday, March 5th in Paris. The interweb has been rife with speculation over Pilati’s replacement with Hedi Slimane being the leading contender. The former Dior Homme creative designer who famously left house in 2007 to pursue photography, however has not officially been confirmed as Pilati’s successor. Yves Saint Laurent and its parent company Pinault-Printemps-Redoute are not expected to announce a successor until after the forthcoming show. [WWD]

The 84th Annual Academy Awards were held yesterday in Hollywood and featured a red carpet procession that boasted actual highlights other than Ryan Seacrest being covered in ash. Last night there were gowns galore and on the morning after it appears to be Gwyneth Paltrow who wore Tom Ford that is receiving no small share of the praise. Her sleek, all white gown with cape evidently could do no wrong. [Vogue]
