Autumn might be only four days old, but thankfully with it comes W October 2011, an issue chock-full of seasonal flavors including a Justin Timberlake cover story that isn’t about ‘N Sync, a Paolo Roversi editorial featuring Carine Roitfeld modeling (yes, also add that to her already lengthy CV), and a Craig McDean story featuring a raft of Ford girls to be later discussed on this page. For the sake of this post, however October W begins in its closing pages with a story featuring Ford’s Anais Mali photographed by Josh Olins. Titled “Poster Girls,” this Giovanna Battaglia-styled shoot does not so much flip the script as rotate it 90° counterclockwise and spread the portraits over two pages. The crux of the story involves pairing a “a daring mix of bold accessories, lively prints, and statement jewelry.” To that end Anais is styled to the hilt for her first look that includes a polk dot Giulietta silk shirt, Daang Goodman for Tripp NYC’s cotton and spandex jeans, Patricia Underwood beret, Dana Rebecca Designs 14-karat yellow gold, green jade, and diamond earrings, Diane von Furstenberg scarf, Temple St. Clair 18-karat yellow gold and peridot cuff (on right wrist), Macklowe Gallery 18-karat yellow gold and diamond cuff (on left wrist), and, breathe, a Tiffany & Co. bag. The second look worn by Anais includes a Proenza Schouler viscose and wool jacket, Michael Kors polyester and nylon top, Satya Twena hat, Kenneth Jay Lane earrings, Fred Leighton 14-karat yellow gold necklace and 18-karat yellow gold and coral brooch (on necklace), Nancy Gonzalez belt, and Ralph Lauren Collection bag. Suffice it to say were Anais wearing either of these looks on the street, she’d be prime for the sort of photographers featured in today’s daily links. As it stands, however Josh Olins did just fine with his exclusive poster girl in Anais Mali.

Damien your intro sentences are always spot on. And that just-so subtle hair flip in the first photo: so crucial. This girl can sure pull off glamour!
