Dazed & Confused is the gift that keeps on giving and none more so than in the February 2011 issue. A week ago this page looked at Ming Xi and Hyoni Kang‘s editorial by Will Davidson and Joanna Schlenzka, but today we turn our attention to Ford’s Daiane Conterato who appears in the same issue in a story titled “Tokyo Chorus.” Styled by Dazed senior menswear editor, Robbie Spencer, the story remains faithful to its name by producing a series of looks wherein the kimono is the consistent refrain. Take, for example, Daiane’s first look that takes a swipe at bridging the East-West divide by combining a kimono from Cassie Marcantile with waistband and trousers by Jil Sander, and flower garland by Sorcha O’Raghallaigh. Daiane’s final look boldly pairs an Alexander McQueen dress with a kimono from Kimonodego. Having walked in several shows during São Paulo Fashion Week F/W 11 we look forward to seeing Daiane Conterato on the runways of New York in the coming week.

beautiful
Very nice – but not using an Asian Model does not make lots of sense but inspiring to the Western Culture to use Traditional Asian clothes if they live in Japan or Asia.
