Ford Men’s Ethan James and Ian O’Brien feature for Yohji Yamamoto‘s menswear spring 2011 collection. With Y-3 absorbing much of the renowned Japanese designer’s minimalist expression it leaves his own menswear line open to absorb much of his maximalist tendencies. For spring 2011 Yohji Yamamoto unflinchingly turns back time to the eighteenth century. The collection certainly takes its chances and for it should be lauded. However, and with all due respect, this reviewer can’t help but recall Derek Waters‘s Drunk History.
